Last year when I was interested in an Autoroller on the new Ford chassis, I mentioned to the dealer, I'd happily give up his free cruise control and swap it for aircon. He laughed and said the latter was over a grand, but the cruise was about £120 to him as a dealer. As the fault is so well-known (by Fiat) and so common with earlier Ducato X290s, even though your Hobby’s Fiat warranty may have expired, Fiat may well be prepared to meet the cost of replacement as a goodwill gesture if you ask nicely (particularly if you have had the Ducato serviced by a Fiat Professional agent).
A Ducato x250 lever will fit plug&play into the housing. There's another video, also in Polish, but the guy is explaining the idea of retrofitting the cruise control also for another models. They're based in Chorley but came down to north London and fitted it in no time at all, he did have to make a new wiring loom (mine is a 2012 3.0 Euro 5, different connectors to the earlier 07-11 year models on wiring) Works a treat, 2 memory
Jan 29, 2009. #7. It wont be the brake light switch. It will stop you enabling cruise control, but the light on the dash will still come on when you turn the power switch on. On mine the whole system goes dead. I am sure it is picking up a fault code, which clears when you restart it.
Points. 87. Nov 24, 2019. #3. The radio is tied to the VIN of the vehicle it is fitted in at the factory. When it is switched on, it checks the ID via the canbus and if all is well, it will start. If the vehicle ID is incorrect, or it cannot communicate, it will ask for the security code.
The 2017 Fiat Ducato Owner Handbook has a “speed limiter” entry in the index, but (as will be evident from Robinhood’s attachment) the drawing of the stalk differs slightly from your photo. In fact, I think the stalk for every Ducato with the speed-limiter function looks like yours, as my 2015 Ducato’s stalk is exactly the same as in
